Jerome Powell. The QE program.

He said that the Fed intends to return to the policy of increasing the balance sheet of the Central Bank, which was abandoned by the regulator 5 years ago.

Jerome Powell explained that what we’re talking about is not a quantitative easing program, as it might seem. QE involves buying up assets in large volumes. Central banks do this after the global economic crisis. The Fed does not plan to purchase assets on a large scale. We shouldn’t expect any major changes in Fedrereserve policy. Jerome Powell said that more detailed information on the increase in the balance of the Central Bank will be provided later.

Markets have reacted to his performance ambiguously. Their participants evaluate the Fed’s decision to buy assets as a QE launch, albeit on a small scale.
