On Sunday the French chose among the candidates for the presidency. As a result, two candidates, Emmanuelle Macron and Marin Le Pen, entered the second round. They won 24% and 22% of the votes, respectively.
European Union representatives congratulated Macron on his victory. However, many voters are not satisfied with the results of the first round and intend to do everything possible to make the French president Marin Le Pen. At the same time, the markets are concerned about this prospect. Le Pen repeatedly stated during the election campaign that if she wins, she will hold a referendum in the country on France’s withdrawal from the European Union. She also stressed that a weak person like Macron could not solve the problem of terrorism in France. Some media outlets fear chaos in the country due to the division of society into left and right.
The second round of the presidential election in France will take place on May 7. According to the results of the survey, Macron can win a convincing victory. 62% of respondents are ready to vote for it. However, Le Pen is taking steps to change the situation.
